Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Dept. is about to tore down 331 illegal buildings in the locations of six the low-cost apartments (rusunami).

Agustio Dharmawan, Head of Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Dept. said the policy is to follow up the BPK's investigative audit reports (LHP) in 2015. The report says there are found illegal buildings around the rusunami.
"We will tore down 331 buildings around the rusunami in the near future," he expressed, at his office, Tuesday (9/5).
50 Personnel Demolished Stalls and Illegal BuildingsOf 10 rusunami, 6 out of them are occupied by illegal buildings. Those are Bendungan Hilir II rusunami with 47 buildings and Tanah Tinggi rusunami with 38 buildings.
There are also Bidara Cina rusunami with 60 buildings, Karet Tengsin I rusunami with 43 buildings, Tambora III rusunami with 58 buildings and Petamburan rusunami with 85 buildings.
His dept. has sent first-third warning letters to the building owners. Additionally, demolition warrant was also sent to them.
He added, the first warning has been sent since September 30, 2016. It is done gradually and given a deadline.
"If the building is not torn down, we will do it," he stressed.
As planned, demolition will begin at Bidara Cina rusunami on September 14, Bendungan Hilir II rusunami on September 20, Tanah Tinggi rusunami on October 11, Karet Tengsin I rusunami on October 18.
"There are also Tambora III rusunami on November 8 and Petamburan rusunami on November 22," he finished.
